The Horn of Eldr
Forged by flame, raised in ritual. 🍂
The Horn of Eldr is a hand-carved vessel of strength and ceremony. With burnished amber and black tones and a curved, ridged body, this horn speaks of long-forgotten rituals, crackling hearths, and mead shared under flickering torchlight.
Long before the gods carved their runes into stone, there was Eldr — the fire that lit the first hearths, that tempered blades, and warmed the mead of kings. In the smoke-filled longhouses of the North, chieftains believed that fire held memory — that it whispered the names of fallen warriors and echoed the tales of those yet to be born.
The Horn of Eldr was said to be carved from the horn of a sacred beast struck down during a sky-fire storm. Its body, scorched and veined with gold, bore the mark of fire’s favour. The grooves along its side were not simply carved — they were scorched by ember and polished by time, each one a channel for the stories passed down from father to son, shield-brother to shield-brother.
To drink from this horn was a rite of passage. It meant your name would be remembered — spoken beside the fire long after your battles were done. With every pour of mead, you honour the old ways. With every toast, you become part of the saga.
For the fire never dies… it only passes from hand to hand. 🔥

1. 💧 Clean After Every Feast
After draining your last ale, rinse your horn with cool water. Avoid using boiling water as it may weaken the structure of the horn—only cold or lukewarm water, as the Vikings would.
2. 🧼 Use Mild Soap
When your horn requires a deeper clean, use a gentle, mild soap with a soft cloth. Harsh chemicals and abrasive sponges are for pillaging, not for cleaning!
3. 🌬️ Air Dry Like a True Viking
After washing, allow your horn to air dry naturally. Do not leave it under direct sunlight or near a fire pit—keep it in the cool shade of your longhouse.
4. 🍺 Cold Drinks Only
Your horn is made for mead, ale, and cold beverages. Avoid hot drinks like mulled wine or coffee, as they may damage the horn’s natural finish. Keep your beverages as cold as the fjords!
5. 🛡️ Polish and Protect
From time to time, keep your horn in fighting condition by polishing the exterior with a food-safe oil like olive oil or coconut oil. This will keep it shining with the glory of the gods.
6. ⚔️ Store Like a Viking
When not in use, store your horn in a cool, dry place. Don’t leave it in damp environments or near the heat, as it may warp over time. Store it safely, ready for the next raid!
