Fenrir was the wolf the gods could not control.

Born to Loki and Angrboda, he grew with such terrifying strength that every ordinary chain placed upon him shattered. Only Gleipnir, a magical binding made by the dwarfs, could restrain him. To secure it, Tyr placed his hand in Fenrir's jaws, knowing the price he might pay.

Norse prophecy warned that no chain would hold forever. At Ragnarok, Fenrir would break free and face Odin himself.

That untamed story is carried across this vessel. A howling wolf rises along the horn's natural curve, its lifted muzzle and flowing fur lines engraved by hand into the surface. The colour and grain of the buffalo horn move through the design, giving every wolf a character no mould can repeat.

Each vessel begins as genuine buffalo horn, recovered as a natural by-product of food production. The horn is cleaned and prepared, then the artisan works with its individual shape before engraving the Fenrir design and finishing the piece. Every completed horn is leak tested before shipment and paired with its display stand.

The finished vessel carries both stories: Fenrir's refusal to be controlled and nature's refusal to repeat itself. Some spirits were never meant to be tamed.

Each Fenrir drinking horn is worked individually around the natural shape of the buffalo horn. Differences in colour, grain, markings, curve and capacity are part of the material and make every finished vessel unique.

💧 Before the first feast

Gently wash your horn by hand using lukewarm water, mild dish soap and a soft cloth.

🫧 Clean after every use

Empty and rinse your horn promptly after drinking. Do not leave beverages sitting inside for extended periods.

🚫 Never soak or use the dishwasher

Never soak your horn or place it in the dishwasher. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges and vigorous scrubbing.

❄️ Keep it cold

Use only with cold alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Do not use with hot liquids.

💨 Dry completely

Wipe your horn with a soft cloth, then allow it to air dry completely before storing. Never store it while damp.

🛡️ Protect the finish

Store it in a cool, dry place away from strong heat and prolonged direct sunlight. Do not apply oils, waxes or polishes unless Modern Viking recommends them for that specific product.
