Final carve for 2023

We take absolute pride and joy in the work we do, we try our best to make every item as perfect as possible whilst being handcrafted and for that we need time. Final carve is the last carvings we will do for 2023, some of our horns take over 2 months to treat, carve, food-safe seal, dry and polish. All horns that state "last carve for 2023" will be the only stock we have for Christmas and the holiday season, once it's gone it's gone for 2023 and will begin again in the new year.

Our items are all hand-carved, from our horns to our axes to our jewelry, everything is hand made, Making hand-made items takes an extensive amount of time, sometimes up to three months, the weather, and human error all come into effect when hand-crafting items, so we believe it is best to be prepared nice and early and think ahead, so you can have the most amazing and Viking inspire holidays, yule or christmas!

Our horns are a natural product so its physically impossible to have all the same-coloured horns. We will try our absolute best to send you a horn/mug like the picture displayed and the colour you have selected 😊

Every single horn /mug is food safe sealed and is 100% safe to drink from 😊

Most liquids are fine to put in your horn/mug. It’s recommended to stick to beers, meads and even wine. Try to avoid liquids like soft drinks and hot liquids.

To keep your brand-new horn/mug looking amazing always wash it with warm soapy water after use. To get to the bottom of the horn a soft brush is recommend and then simply towel dry.

Do not put it in the dishwasher. Do not use harsh chemicals like bleach etc. Do not use hard bristle brushes to wash the horn. Do not put in the microwave. When in doubt email us at

All our horns are made from a single pc, including the horn and the stand as it is natural product, we match the best stand with the best horn for the perfect look.

All our horns are natural products ethically sourced. unfortunately, we have no say or way in shaping the horn as it would ruin the product, each horn is unique in shape and colour.

All our horns/mugs are carved by hand, in some circumstances there might be very slight differentiation, This can occur due to human error but most of the time due to the shape of the horn we have to improvise.

We will try our absolute best to give you two horns that very similar in height and colour if you are after a pair that is similar, however they will not be identical as it is a natural product.

Every single horn/mug is food safe sealed, cleaned and washed. In the rare case you receive a horn which you think has a smell and you aren’t comfortable drinking out of, simply give it a good wash with warm soapy water. We try our absoutle best to give you the prefrence of the horn style selcted, but there is no garuntee. This is a natural product, purchases should be made according to the carving on the horn, Please admire the hardwork of the carving, the rich history behind the horn and the amazing feel and taste drinking out of a horn. Every time we ethically source our horns, each batch is always diffirent it is a natural product not plastic.

Dark shade refers to a dark tone, black,cream,dark brown, mixed with lighter colours.

Light shade refers to white, light creame, lighter black, and mixed dark and light colours.

Modern Viking will not accept chargers for change of mind or dislike of colour, it its the buyer obligation to pay for return postage and resending of anothe horn due to not liking the colour of a horn.

We try our absoulte best to give an accurate time frame, but human error is common in a hand crafted item. Pre-ordered items, depending on the item itself can take from two weeks upto two months to complete.

As a small family owned business, we work around the clock to get your items made and sent to you in a resonabile time, from the date of preordering your item can be delayed from 4 to 15 days depending on the cause of the delay, we will notify you via email as soon as your item is ready, packed and shipped.

We understand that most of our items are given as the most amazing gift or the perfect birthday present, but these delays our out of our control, everything is hand made, delays can be caused from suppliers to human error and so on. We take absoutle pride and care on every single item we make, the process of doing this is extremeley extensive, any item on pre order, like drinking horns have a huge process for us to get them looking shiny and perfect as they do. We start with getting the raw material, then this needs to be treated for almost a week, then recleanned, then after that we find the perfect horns for the perfect carving, after this process every horn is hand carved, yes by hand, then after this is done over a few days, the horn needs to be washed again, then we put a colour throught the carving of the horn, this needs a few days to dry enough so we can polish it, after the paint has dried we remove the excuss paint, after this the horn is then food safe sealed 6 times over, meaning each time we do it on a nice hot sunny day needs atleast two days to dry, after the food sealent is all dried we polish the horn to make it nice and shiny, one last wash is given, we test it for leaks from the carving or anywhere else, once this is all complete we prepare it for packging. This is just a very quick run down of our process, and we hope you can appreciate the time and effort we put in to make your item as amazing as it is for an extremely resonable price, our items just not a gift it is a journey and a talking piece that should be cherished and respected for the fine item it is.

Final carve for 2022 means that after the next batch of stock we will not be carving anymore until 2023, our horns take over 2 months to treat, prep,carve,polish and pack so therefore we are preparing now 29/08 for the horns to be in stock by 10/10 at the latest ready for christmas, so everyone can have a chance to get something speical for the people they love. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

All our horns/mugs have a 2-year manufacturer warranty. This included the actual structure of the horn or mug itself. This does not include any parts attached or applied to the item itself.

Natural horn products can last up to 100 years! If looked after properly with basic wash and dry rules.

Our two-year policy is subjected to investigation; natural horns can last for up to 100 years when managed and maintained properly. If a fault or problem happens to the horn, mug itself and is not included for any attached parts, one of our experts will determine the reasoning and outcome of this warranty. We at Modern Viking have the right to decline any 55-year warranty if the consumer is at fault or forceful damage has been done and is not natural. 55-year warranty covers the horn itself not including attached parts/seals. Buyer must pay return postage and proof of purchase is required.
